Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation Program (ISAP)
Midaynta has multilingual settlement counselors to provide assistance to newly arrived refugees and immigrants in their settlement and integration process. There is also help for settled immigrants who need help accessing government services.
Services provided under ISAP include:
- Immigration related issues: counselors provide assistance in immigration cases such as family reunification, sponsorship, permanent residency and citizenship to name a few.
- Information and Orientation services: clients receive information about life in Canada including cultural norms, banking services, education and school registration, health care, housing, legal rights and responsibilities and civic participation.
- Documents: clients receive assistance with completing various government applications such as OHIP, Child Tax Benefit, Work Permits, etc. Translations and document certification services are also provided by legal counsel and a commissioner of oath.
- Referrals: clients receive referrals to other appropriate agencies for assistance in the settlement and integration process. Counselors also offer linguistic and cultural interpretation and advocacy that facilitate access to services in the community.
ISAP services are available to refugees and immigrants throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Clients receive one-on-one counseling and can also attend any of our monthly workshops on a variety of settlement and integration related issues.
ISAP services are offered at our main office at 1992 Yonge Street, Suite #203. Tel# 416 544-1992.
